The project's original selection, arrangement, schema, documentation, quality
metadata, and compilation are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution
4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0):

Attribution should identify WhenToApplyPreEmergent.com, the release version,
the dataset title, and the canonical release URL. The preferred citation is in
CITATION.cff and metadata.json.

Upstream material is not relicensed by this notice. NOAA GHCN-Daily supplied
the underlying temperature observations, and the U.S. Census Bureau supplied
the ZCTA geography. Their U.S. government material retains its source status.
This project claims only its derived GDD values, mapping, quality metadata,
documentation, and compilation. It did not collect the thermometer readings.

No endorsement by NOAA, the Census Bureau, USPS, or the U.S. government is
stated or implied. The data are provided as-is, without warranties. Review the
methodology, freshness fields, and limitations before use.
